The place to discuss CPSIA

A website to track old children's books and to salvage and redistribute them

A friend of mine just sent me an email about the CPSIA laws on children books This is atrocious: they want to get rid of all children's books printed before 1985. This seems to be a ruse of the 'elite' to get rid of all moral books and substitute it with occult books.

Are there people out there willing to buy up these old books? If so, I may be able to help in the possible salvage and redistribution of these books.

I am currently creating a on-line book tracking system that will be used to 'salvage' older religious books. It can keep track of the following data: info and comments on all titles, info on all copies and their whereabouts and whether they are for sale, for borrowing or for giving away, and finally the emails or websites or contact info for these suppliers, whether publishers, wholesalers, retailers, used book stores or home libraries. Of course, all this is a self-entering system and the size of the system depends on how many people enter how much data. This religious book system will be (I hope) up and running by mid September (but not yet populated with titles and copies: this takes time and promotion)

This system can obviously be altered to service older children's books. I was intending to alter my religious book tracking system into a homesteader resource tracking system in the latter part of the year. But on hearing of the trouble children's books are in, I was thinking that I might alter my plans and instead work on a children's book tracking system in the latter part of the year. Then, of course, it will take a while to get things going: perhaps a year to promote and populate the database and then to get the redistribution and salvage of books moving along. I must decide on my course of action by mid September.

To make up my mind I need the following questions answered:

1. Are there many peole out there willing to buy up books
2. Are there other databases/websites already out there already doing what I intend to do
3. How much time do we have before many books are destroyed.

Obviously I am only one man. I could do only so much. Are others already doing what I intend to do? I perused the net and I have have already seen many large forum and blogs and databases that are similar to mine, but not exactly like mine (jacketflap, amendthecpsia, cpsia forums) There seems to be a lot manpower already setting up many things similar to mine (or am I mistaken?)

Please reply One can see (or find a link to) my religious tracking system at faithfultothetruth.com by mid september.

May God Bless
Rick

Hi there, I'm an independent toy developer and have gone through the process of CPSIA testing for my first production run on a series of blocks I've developed. The cost really broke the bank, and ate up most of my margin. I'm wondering if anyone out…

Didn't they sit in on the drafting of the CPSIA? I just received this, from change.org: http://www.change.org/wakeupwalmart/actions/view/tell_walmart_to_get_dangerous_products_off_its_shelves

Help Support the new CPSIA Documentary!

A CPSIA documentary is in the works. Since the mainstream media seems to think this is not worthy of their precious air time, this is another great way to get the word out and put our leaders on the "hot seat" to explain themselves. We know that the impact of this travesty is widespread. Now we just need to collect our pennies together and help support the documentary. We have over 700 members here. Imagine if everyone gave just $20....(that would be $14,000 and good chunk of the cost). Here is a quick way to make a donation.

This is a donation to support the making of a CPSIA documentary (see link for details). CPSIA-Central is not affiliated with this organization, and is offering this space for the paypal button in support of the documentary.
