The place to discuss CPSIA

As CPSIA-Central grows and becomes more visible, we are in need of a proper logo. I know that right here in this group there is much artistic talent, not to mention among your friends and colleagues. While I can't offer much (or anything) in the way of monetary compensation, I can offer public accolades and some publicity. We will announce the winning graphic artist, and provide links to their website.

Additionally, if the winner has children, I can offer a selection of free toys (and maybe other members can offer a few other "lead free" prizes).

I would like to receive entries by end of day Feb 1st. We will then take a few days to choose the winning entry, and will need some time to create a sign, using the logo, for our CPSIA-Central Toy Fair booth.

Please post your entry in the photos section along with any information about the artist and their company. (Even entries that are not selected, can get some publicity.)

Howdy :-)

Do you have any requirements as far as size of the image, and do you need more than one size for different purposes?
Thanks,

In terms of digital size, it should be able to to be blown up as a sign (vector file?). It should work in black & white as well as color. Also, for bonus points, it should have a part of it that can stand on its own (see our company logo at challengeandfunwholesale.com. Our logo works as a complete name, but if you chop off the regular characters you still have an identifiable symbol. These are just some of my thoughts, but I don't want to hinder to artistic juices.

Does that answer your question about size? Please clarify if I am misunderstanding. Thanks!

Gotcha, thanks :-)

I still say it should somehow involve the Bergermeister Meisterberger. :-D

(giving this a bump because my news posts pushed it off the front page)

I was just reading about how motorcycle parts manufacturers are realizing that the law can apply to them. When we start talking about laws designed to prevent toddlers from putting lead-laced toys in their mouths that can potentially regulate the manufacture of small displacement engines, I think we have reached the point where something like this might be appropriate artwork for this and other related sites:

If you like the artwork on http://ecertificates.org (including the icons on the home page), I'm your guy. I don't need anything. Would just love something done about the CPSIA. (After all, how can we possibly comply when we've been waiting on test reports since December. Is it our fault? And we have whole product lines that we are suppose to now just toss when the rules have been so vague up until now?) Anyway, I'll start on the logo tonight.

Probably too late but here's a quick first pass...

HI,

I appreciate the concern which is been rose. The things need to be sorted out because it’s not about the individual but it can be with everyone.

Hi there, I'm an independent toy developer and have gone through the process of CPSIA testing for my first production run on a series of blocks I've developed. The cost really broke the bank, and ate up most of my margin. I'm wondering if anyone out…

Didn't they sit in on the drafting of the CPSIA? I just received this, from change.org: http://www.change.org/wakeupwalmart/actions/view/tell_walmart_to_get_dangerous_products_off_its_shelves

Help Support the new CPSIA Documentary!

A CPSIA documentary is in the works. Since the mainstream media seems to think this is not worthy of their precious air time, this is another great way to get the word out and put our leaders on the "hot seat" to explain themselves. We know that the impact of this travesty is widespread. Now we just need to collect our pennies together and help support the documentary. We have over 700 members here. Imagine if everyone gave just $20....(that would be $14,000 and good chunk of the cost). Here is a quick way to make a donation.

This is a donation to support the making of a CPSIA documentary (see link for details). CPSIA-Central is not affiliated with this organization, and is offering this space for the paypal button in support of the documentary.
