Thank You Vivian. I know I searched online for a facility here in Tulsa, and I found a place that can do lead testing (x-ray) if I provide him with all of the details needed to be certified by the CPSA. So I think that would mean they are not certified? But nothing for Phlates.

I don't believe CPSA ever gave a list of testing facilities.

Hello to everyone, I am new to this and make baby quilts, onesies, tutu's, pillows, fleece throws, and I am trying to find a testing facility in Tulsa. Does anyone know of a company? I need help.
Thanks,
Amy

OFF TOPIC:

Several of us from the Edmond area are trying to organize a book festival for 2010. If anyone is interested in helping, please contact me at Vivian@viviangilbertzabel.com

Vivian is exactly right, it's a truce. We will all have to remain vigilant and keep up with the revisions or whatever happen to the law in the next year. This doesn't mean they will back off entirely, it's only a reprieve because we've ALL been raising holy hell over this! Nobody is doing this alone! I've spend ALL DAY many days on the phone making phone interviews, and have been quoted directly or indirectly by newspapers across the country. My website page about this has gotten around 15K hits this month. So don't even go there - this is a TEAM effort, and will remain a TEAM effort. BTW, I may be an unsophisticated hillbilly Indian, but I ain't no dummy either, you might not even understand what I used to do for a living on computers. So don't talk down to anyone on this blog, it's entirely inappropriate and unacceptable.

This latest decision is a temporary truce, not a battle win, much less a victory in the war.

We'll keep working and pushing to have this law gone. If protection is needed, it must be a "sane" law.

I am not being nasty! geez...I just didn't understand your rant and the direction you took which was pretty much off topic of what I posted...believe me, girly, I too have been fighting this thing, night and day...and at the same time trying to find a new job because I'm being laid off of my main job...so don't tell me what is at stake...believe me, I know! I DO get the big picture and have been shouting it to as many voices as I can...Now...I'm done with this exchange...
Try to be happy with the fact that at least we now have 1 year to get this law fixed, given the 1 year stay that the CPSC just issued...

Vivian-Wow! Thanks for posting the press release...I'm hoping that does mean what it says (and that it applies to books)...and we'll now get a year to get this thing fixed!!!!!

Leslie-frankly you are going other places that we're not right now...I agree...if we can't sell it or give it away, it will be thrown away...another stupid provision of the law...but frankly that isn't my concern right now...I WANT to sell it...so that it is used..and then maybe reused by someone donating it to a thrift store...think you've missed my points entirely and may need to find another forum for your concerns.

Please check Brain Cells & Bubble Wrap, my main blog, for a very good news.

Help Support the new CPSIA Documentary!

A CPSIA documentary is in the works. Since the mainstream media seems to think this is not worthy of their precious air time, this is another great way to get the word out and put our leaders on the "hot seat" to explain themselves. We know that the impact of this travesty is widespread. Now we just need to collect our pennies together and help support the documentary. We have over 700 members here. Imagine if everyone gave just $20....(that would be $14,000 and good chunk of the cost). Here is a quick way to make a donation.

This is a donation to support the making of a CPSIA documentary (see link for details). CPSIA-Central is not affiliated with this organization, and is offering this space for the paypal button in support of the documentary.
