Is this a proposed guidance that still needs to be voted on? Am I reading it correctly? It appears they will allow component testing if voted on and as long as items are made under 10,000 units, they will not need to be certified, but still must u...

It's so good to know there's someone else out there who's trying to help their fellow businesspeople by sharing ideas! I agree, we should all share our ideas and help keep each other afloat. The CPSIA's defenders are hoping we'll just all go away...

I saw this article today on AOL, but it is so sad to see the comments. Most people wrote such horrible comments and they clearly do not know or care about what the law means. http://smallbusiness.aol.com/startup/article/meet-molly-chen/594445?icid...

The CPSC is still taking requests for comments so it is not clear if we need the exact address or just, "Made in China". There are no further clarifications. Here is the link: http://www.cpsc.gov/businfo/frnotices/fr09/trackinglabels.html

yea! They did not even mention training pottys! You can email the CPSC a request for exemption since really, a child probably should never put such an item in their mouth and it is for sure not a toy. Maybe try calling Patti Bittner who is the CPS...

What have you done to stay in business?

Many months of venting and complaining of how over the top I thought the CPSIA was, and my poor family could not stand to listen to me anymore, my husband then said something profound, "Just give up then, close down, or do something else, please!" (He is very supportive, and I agree, I was tired of listening to myself rant.)

After unwrinkling my forhead and taking a deep breath, the realization that came to mind was, I love my business and I am really tired of the anxiety, I will not give up, b… Continue

My letter to congress Jan. 22, 2009

Honorable Diana Titus,
I am writing in about the CPSIA and do hope you have a moment to read why I honestly feel the US free market was already diligently addressing the lead and phthalates problem and how the CPSIA is crushing those efforts.
Over the last few years there have been more recalls and awareness of harmful products and generally poor quality products. This has coincided with a surge of the cottage industry to provide an increasing amount of quality handcrafted and small business pro… Continue

Help Support the new CPSIA Documentary!

A CPSIA documentary is in the works. Since the mainstream media seems to think this is not worthy of their precious air time, this is another great way to get the word out and put our leaders on the "hot seat" to explain themselves. We know that the impact of this travesty is widespread. Now we just need to collect our pennies together and help support the documentary. We have over 700 members here. Imagine if everyone gave just $20....(that would be $14,000 and good chunk of the cost). Here is a quick way to make a donation.

This is a donation to support the making of a CPSIA documentary (see link for details). CPSIA-Central is not affiliated with this organization, and is offering this space for the paypal button in support of the documentary.
