I sent emails to all the commissioners on the CPSA this morning, asking them to continue the stay. Nancy Nord answered almost immediately, stating that she agrees the stay needs to be continued.

A place to discuss the impacts of CPSIA on all aspects of children's books and what we are doing and can do to fight the act.

I don't believe CPSA ever gave a list of testing facilities.

Your interest in the CPSIA (public)
I'm the head of a small publishing company that produces children's and middle grade books among other genres. We will more than likely have to close our doors if this law does go into effect.

What would you like us to know about you? (public)
I'm a grandmother and great-grandmother who wants children to be safe, but I believe efforts that don't work are worse than nothing.

I taught for 27 years, and I'm an author as well as a publisher who helps others have published books.

I must leave the fight to others

The stress of the CPSIA's possible destruction of my small business (small publishing company which has about 85% children's books) and the fight to try to get people to wake up and help fight the law and ignorant lawmakers was too much. Physically, I can't do any more. My heart is acting up now, and I'm to avoid stress.

I guess another price added to the CPSIA.

Is there hope for a stay from CPSIA?

"CPSC Grants One Year Stay of Testing and Certification Requirements for Certain Products" gives us hope that maybe wiser decisions are being made.

According to the report from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, "a one year stay of enforcement for certain testing and certification requirements for manufacturers and importers of regulated products, including products intended for children 12 years old and younger. The… Continue

I'm up in Red Rock, about 30 miles north of Stillwater. I've heard from some people in Tulsa who are just about ready to make a road trip caravan to DC if this doesn't get straightened out soon. I gave up my IT career 6 yrs ago when we left OKC, so I can't go back, and I'm too young to retire. I've threatened to put the seats back into my 12-passenger van that we use to set up at powwows, and take up a collection for gas. I'm going to be in OKC on Tues & Wed for a Southern Plains Indian Housing Assoc. meeting at the Sheraton Downtown on Broadway by Bricktown. Do you know if there's a group of concerned business owners in OKC that I might be able to meet for supper one night while I'm there?

Hi there, I'm an independent toy developer and have gone through the process of CPSIA testing for my first production run on a series of blocks I've developed. The cost really broke the bank, and ate up most of my margin. I'm wondering if anyone out…

Help Support the new CPSIA Documentary!

A CPSIA documentary is in the works. Since the mainstream media seems to think this is not worthy of their precious air time, this is another great way to get the word out and put our leaders on the "hot seat" to explain themselves. We know that the impact of this travesty is widespread. Now we just need to collect our pennies together and help support the documentary. We have over 700 members here. Imagine if everyone gave just $20....(that would be $14,000 and good chunk of the cost). Here is a quick way to make a donation.

This is a donation to support the making of a CPSIA documentary (see link for details). CPSIA-Central is not affiliated with this organization, and is offering this space for the paypal button in support of the documentary.
